Today, we will speak about such important part in our life – Job, Employment
Vocabulary:
- Labour book (трудовая книга)
- Probationary Period (испытательный срок)

Try to find the definition:
1) Every employee working for more than 5 days in an enterprise, must have his/her employment noted in his/her labour book. The labour book contains information about the employee & his/her past current employment, as well as certain other information relating to the emloyee’s work history. The labour book is vital in establishing the right of an employee to state-provided pension & other benefits.
2) An employer has the right to establish a three-month probationary period for newly hired employee. The imposition of a probationary period must be specifically in the labour agreement or the labour contract, as well as in the order on the hiring of the employee, issued by the employee’s managing director. During the probationary period, the employer may dismiss the employee at any time, if the employer determines that the employee does not meet the criteria established for the job position, for which he or she was hired.
3) Wages may not be lower than the minimum monthly wage established in the applicable Ukrainian legislation. The amount of the minimum monthly wage is subject to frequent indexation. The minimum monthly wage was established at UAH 888 as 1 July 2010. The amount of the minimum monthly wage is periodically adjusted by the Parliament to reflect incresses in the cost of living.
4) The regular work week is 40 hours. Any time worked over 40 hours per week is classified as overtime & may only be required in extraordinary circumstances. The labour Code limits the total amount of overtime in one year to 120 hours, & an employee may not be required to work more than 4 hours of overtime during 2 consecutive days. Minors, pregnant women, & women with children under the age of three may not be required to work any overtime. Overtime must be at the rate of 200 % of the regular hourly rate.
5) There are ten official holidays in Ukraine. Employees may be required to work on an official holiday only in extraordinary circumstances. Employees in Ukraine are entitled to an annual paid vacation of 24 calendar days, including weekends during the vacation period but not excluding of the official holidays.
6) The system of sick leave in Ukraine requires the employee to submit a medical certificate only after his/her recovery, i.e., on the first working day after the employee’s absence. Sick live compensation is covered by the Ukrainian State Social Security Fund, which is formed from the employee’s contributions made as a percentage of its employee’s aggregate salaries.

3) What things give you the most satisfaction at work? – Что дает вам наибольшее удовлетворение в работе?
1) Why did you live your previous job? – По какой причине вы ушли с предыдущей работы?
2) Can you give me an example of your ability to manage or supervise others? – Вы можете привести примеры проявления ваших способностей управления или организации других людей?
3) What things frustrate you most? How do you usually cope with them? – Что может расстроить вас сильнее всего? Как вы с этим справляетесь?
